80% OF VICTIMS IN MASS CASUALTY EVENTS ARE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY CIVILIANS.

I founded Survive the Madness in 2017 when it became abundantly clear that we needed to learn more to HELP OURSELVES survive the active shooter attacks that were gaining in frequency and intensity.

No one had real answers or solutions to the growing problem. The deaths increased; the violence grew almost every day.

I worked for almost a year with my local congress representative to help present legislation and bonafide protocols that would help us all know what to do and how to help each other.

I remember the day I was told to not hold my breath for any change or official guidance. The law works slowly and lobbyists were dominant in both local and federal levels. If I wanted to contribute to a solution, I’d have to do it on my own. Challenge accepted.

As a serial entrepreneur, I have been self-employed and self-supporting for over forty years. Half of that time was deeply entrenched in the disaster preparedness field. As a mother, and a grandmother, I simply could not sit by and do nothing.

This isn’t my first rodeo. Many will remember me as the first woman owned earthquake preparedness company in California in the 1980’s. I worked diligently to prepare hundreds of thousands of schools, companies, communities, religious, corporate, and civic entities on how to prepare, survive, perform Search & Rescue, and establish morgue facilities.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, an only child to a struggling single mom, I knew what it meant to be financially challenged and under regarded. I take pride in making sure schools everywhere have access to training at no cost. Not everything is about money.

There are few things in life more important than protecting those we love. With gun violence being the leading cause of death in the United States, the odds seem to be stacked against us.

We’re here to help change the odds.

THE AVERAGE ACTIVE SHOOTER EVENT LASTS BETWEEN 12 – 15 MINUTES.
